Who hasn’t done it? In the
morning you open the bedroom window, to air the room, and forget to close
the window again before you leave home.
It’s not just the bedroom window that is the problem. The same can happen
with the window in the bathroom, the WC, the kitchen, and so on. After
airing the room, the window is often left open. Even though the heating
system wastes a huge amount of energy trying to keep the room warm, you
usually come back to a draughty, cold room.
In some houses or flats, rooms are permanently ventilated by means of
bottom-hung windows. Even these waste energy – you can count on between
two and four kilowatts blowing out of each of these windows every day!

More comfort for less energy. |

|
|
It doesn’t have to be that way any more! |
The ‘Winboy’ closes the window automatically after a
pre-selected time.
-
This adds up to an energy
saving, per window, of 200 to 300 kilowatts per year. The
‘Winboy’ therefore pays for itself within a very short time.
-
The room stays comfortably warm.
There is no danger of wind, rain or frost damaging the room or
its contents.
-
An open window is an open invitation to any
passing burglar.

Winboy works as easy s that |
-
The ‘Winboy’ can be attached to the side, the
top or the bottom of the window frame by four screws. It is
then attached by a cord to the casement. (If space is
limited, the ‘Winboy’ can even be mounted on the casement
itself, and its cord attached to the window frame.)
-
Before
opening the window, the required airing time is set using a
control on the body of the ‘Winboy’.
-
When
the window is opened, the cord will be pulled out and,
inside the ‘Winboy’, a powerful spring is tensioned.
(The ‘Winboy’ is purely mechanical and requires
neither a power supply nor batteries.)
-
A
clockwork mechanism holds the spring under tension, until
the set time has been reached. The
spring then slowly closes, retracting the cord and, of
course, pulling the window casement closed.
(Note that the ‘Winboy’ mechanism contains a built-in
brake, to prevent the window being slammed shut.)
-
The
cord has a length of approximately 85 cm.
If the casement is opened further than this, a safety
ring fitted to the end of the cord will open, to prevent the
mechanism of the ‘Winboy’ from being damaged.
The cord, with safety ring, can be easily re-attached
to the rest of the ‘Winboy’.
-
If the
window-closing function is not required, the cord can be
simply detached from the casement and secured to the peg on
the ‘Winboy’s housing.
